Ethel (Gorrell) Grimm

Ethel (Gorrell) Grimm was born on July 14, 1886, at Shiloh, Tyler County, West Virginia, the daughter of Leni Leoti (Carter) and Granville Chaney Gorrell. On July 27, 1902, Ethel married Bertrand McClellan Grimm in the Methodist Episcopal Church at Little, Tyler County West Virginia. Bert and Ethel had three children: Shirley Margaret (born September 27, 1903, in the Union District of Pleasants County), Harper Granville (born August 17, 1907 at Everett, also known as Rippentuck), and Leota Faye (born May 28, 1913, at Little). Ethel was an accomplished musician. She was usually the organist at her church, and in early years was the pianist in a group which was in demand at Tyler County affairs. In later years she was a companion to older persons. Ethel died on March 4, 1983, in McAllen, Texas.
